So let me teach you about poko. Its called Texas Hold 'Em formally. There are two types of cards, numbers and face cards. Kind of like numbers and honors/winds in mahjong. The numbers go from 2-10, and the face cards are jack, queen, king, ace. The ace is the best card in the game, and can be used as a number 1 for low end straights, and can be used to complete high end straights in the form of 10, jack, queen, king, ace. BTW there are four suits, clubs, spades, diamonds, and hearts. (similar to pinzu, sou, etc)
So now the game starts, you get two cards. If your cards are low like 5club and 2hearts, you probably have trash but when the blind are low you can just play anyway to see if your hand improves.
After the first round of calls, the "flop" reveals three new cards on the board. These cards are community cards, and anyone can use them to improve the strength of their hand. The strength of your hand is determined by what yaku you currently have.
Some poko yaku:
Pair (5club and 5diamond on the board)
2 Pair (5c, 5d, 2h, 2s)
Set/Three of a kind (5c,5d,5s)
Straight (ace, 2h, 3s, 4d, 5c) (must be five cards!!)
Flush (Five cards of same suit)
Full house (2 pair and a set)
After the flop is the "turn", revealing another community card, and after the turn is the "river" revealing the final community card. Each round is filled with players betting on the strength of their hands while also trying to bluff others out of the hand.
I hope some of this made sense
