Weird thought. Is Kris maybe trying to help in The Knight fight? They get stronger when Ralsei and Susie are swooned, yes, but more than that, the flavor text predicts what attack is coming next, giving you sort of a warning as to what to expect to get ready to dodge. The Soul doesn't have a chest to feel tight, for example. Nor a head to 'spin'. Kris obviously doesn't want to fight The Knight, nor does he want to Susie and Ralsei to be hurt. Maybe they're feeling conflicted?
