Unreal Engine, UE5 to be precise, is an absolute clusterfuck that's enforcing terrible development habits (standardizing use of TAA, upscalers, down-sampled + dithered effects, and now even Frame-Gen), and runs + looks like ass out of the box.
You CAN tweak some settings to make it more tolerable, but the literal iPhone generation born and raised on Blender's Donut tutorials don't understand jack shit about the low-level game development to ever even consider customizing anything.
And the modern triple A industry's notorious for pushing crazy time constrains on devs, often resulting shittons of outsourcing to the Asset Store / Chink or Pajeet farms.
You could unironically replicate 99% of the stuff UE5 can do with UE4, or even with Godot's latest versions. But latter is too much of a Tabula Rasa for GenZ autists, all while the big corpo shills still try to bash it as an outdated 2D engine.

Westoid-made trash, rushed and running on Unreal 5, made for the Xbox users first and foremost.
STALKER 2 is kinda sore point for us OGs.
In short, the project started already back in the very early 2010, right after release of CoP.
But then in Fall 2012, Sergei - the CEO of the GSC Studios - suddenly halted the project, kicked the entire team out, and kept the IPs rights. The game was said to be well over 50% done by that point, so it was a shocker for fans and old devs alike.
No reason was ever given, but the wildest speculations include narratives such as Russian mafia or corrupt Ukr politicians noticing the STALKER franchise making crazy amounts of money (it was a MASSIVE phenonema in Europe, essentially Ukraine's "The Witcher"), thus painting Sergei as the big hero. But he also owns like 3 Lamborghinis, so who knows.
Anyway, fast forward a decade, and the project was restarted by a whole new team, using the off-shelf Unreal 5 engine, instead of the famous, home brew X-Ray Engine, and before the game was even out, they were shilling Battle Passes, special editions with fancy starting gear, and who knows what else.
And when the game came out, it ran like shit, looks worse than the 2007-2009 original trio even on high-end hardware, and literally cut / is missing tons of trademark features OF the STALKER series, such as the A-Life AI simulation system, bullet physics, binoculars, night vision goggles, and who knows what else.
In its place? People of color, women, literal yellow paint meme, and HUD markers + first person cinematics, straight out of PS3-4 era Far Cry games. And the 80 dollar price tag, ofc.
