This is my biggest gripe about the gameplay second to the removal of options and features that leave a positive experience. It's like they're still running the games on the same framework as Red and Green when it comes to battle presentation.
We've gone up from a 160 x 144 pixel resolution to 1280 × 720, why are we still having battle information being shown one line of text box at a time? Pic related.
Why must the game have to pause a second to play the shiny animation? Stadium 2 plays it right as the Poké Ball opens, wasting no extra time.
Why must I press a button to see my opponent's Tera Type when it should be in the main battle UI? The same could be asked for whenever a Pokémon is confused, that saves another text box.
The main battle menu has 4 options and we have 4 buttons on the right side of the controller. Why isn't there an option to have them button mapped so I don't need to press any directional buttons just to run from Pokémon I don't want to battle? Again, Stadium had this.
