Reception has been quite negative, to say the least. The new lighting completely strips away the moody, atmospheric tone that gave the original games their soul, everything looks flat and overexposed, as if they tossed out the art direction in favor of generic brightness. The UI somehow manages to look worse than the PS2 version, with lifeless fonts and uninspired menus that feel more like a mobile game than a modern remaster. To make matters worse, they even censored certain elements like the imperial flag, watering down historical and thematic context without explanation. And for all that, they’re charging $50 which is an absurd price for what is essentially a bare-minimum port with a fresh coat of mediocrity. It’s a slap in the face to longtime fans, especially those who were excited to finally see Raidou get some love once more. Flopdu is what it's generally being called here these days.
