Naturally, 'God', 'Spirituality', 'Magick', ect. is all COPE.
As cope, the primary function is to devalue the thing that is being coped about.
So if a person is unable to achieve his 'wordly' desires, he might use some COPE to make those desires seem less important.
He may even invert reality and pretend that his inability to fulfill his desires is a mark of distinction and not one of failure.
The making sense of various doctrines and exploring their internal logic is a completely pointless endavour, as no one is CONVINCED into joining a COPE. Instead they adhere to the COPE because they have a psychological need to COPE.
