Unironically, the best comparison I have to Part 2 Denji is Stolas from Helluva Boss.
Stolas constantly does selfish and shitty things, but he's ALWAYS portrayed as the victim for it.
Cheats on his wife? It turns out she was abusive so Stolas is blameless
Abandons his daughter? He did it to save his demon boyfriend so Stolas is blameless
His demon boyfriend Blitzo points out that he's a selfish cunt who treats him like a glorified fucktoy (as in he coerces him into sex throughout all of season 1) and constantly talks down to him (which he objectively does)? Blitzo is portrayed as the one in the wrong for lashing out and we get an entire episode about how Blitzo is a piece of shit which ends in BLITZO apologizing to Stolas despite being objectively correct about everything he called him out on.

Obviously Stolas has flaws and is objectively kind of an asshole, but the story REFUSES to engage with them in any meaningful way and write him as anything other than a perpetual victim.
Part 2 is on the same level of writing as the gay demon cartoon. Let that sink in.
