I hate the sensitivity people have over crashes. "It might be a stage where there are crashes unfortunately we don't want to see that". Feels like a mystery box every time there is a crash. SHIT WHO IS IT IS IT A GUY I HATE OR SOMEONE WHO MATTERS??

Crashes are fantastic and exciting and I love gravel and cobbles in the tour. Wet sprint days are cool too so are wet city centre TT's. Downhill finishes I've warmed to also though we rarely see crashes there unless it's slippy G.

Not necessarily. He came in with too little racing. He might not be super sharp and he needs intensity. This could be good for his legs. He recovers well so sharpening the first week might give him the beans for week 3.

He's not doing that much more anyway. They both rode in the cross winds. The short hills are inescapable and everyone puts out the same performance, no drafting up there. His silly down hill attack is negligible.

In terms of GC potential. I can't see remco improving that much, maybe a little at Bora. Lipowitz seems to continue improving and given his own chances he takes them well adn he's consistent. He's a great climber. I think he's noticeable better in 2 years than remco up the mountains. I'm keen to see how remco does this tour. There's genuine competition for the 3rd place now. I know remco was shit at the dauphine but almost 2 minutes over remco and the 3rd place on GC is a pretty incredible result for Lipowitz. When he's leader he takes his chances really well.

I am convinced it was a ruse, I called it during the stage. He was absolutely by no means going full gas. He was holding a lot back because he usually rides with a powerful focused form. He didn't look to be suffering whatsoever either. He claimed to have misjudged the effort too which is bullshit because he didn't push hard after the climb, just rode in. I don't think anyone seethes over the BMC. But the DT Swiss wheels are definitely outdated when you look at what tires people are riding in the real world conditions. I'm sure they're very fast wheels when paired with the tires they're designed around on perfect roads. The problem is that there aren't that many places where you could run the narrower tires and not lose out on rolling resistance. So designing a wheel system that saves <5 watts in perfect conditions but loses out in average conditions to others isn't that attractive to anglos and others with shit roads.
