As long as it's not a mother with a chick they're actually relatively chill. They're curious and will try and snatch your food if you let them get close but their dangerousness is really overblown. There's only ever been two deaths from cassowary and one of them was in Florida. The one death in Australia was a 16 year old that tried to club one to death with his kid brother but ended up getting what he deserved instead.
