love how bouncy the Uth Duna set makes my character feel while running.

Why do they make so many of the levels dark and gray with no way to light them up? The only thing you get are the pink moss balls that stick to stuff.

I wish there was a way to illuminate things. Like just take the lantern designs from pop-up camps, make them emit light, and make them an item that can be put down like a trap.

That way, the game gets to keep all its dumb immersive dark environments and flex its lighting systems, and I can see what the fuck I'm fighting.

Lagiacrus could be a fun fight if it wasn't because of that dogshit water phase.
Seregios is also pretty good. Tempered Seregios is my favorite fight in MHWilds right now.
Everything else are features or QoL that should've been in the base game.

Alright I know I'm bad, but I cannot for the life of me beat Tempered Steve. He never stops fucking moving long enough to hit him except for his one ground pound attack. I truly don't understand how you're supposed to fight him without just standing there blocking/evading all the moves for like 5 minutes until he gets exhausted or does the one move where he stays still for long enough to get maybe one combo string off. Using a CB by the way. Can't get a single SAED off or do a pizza cutter combo over one attack or he hits you and 50% of your health is gone.

Also Tempered Apexes are suddenly taking me 10+ minutes after not playing for a couple months, so am I just bad/rusty or do I need to change weapons, because I'm getting demolished. Had no problem killing shit when the game launched and now everything feels impossible but maybe it's because I'm fighting all the new update monsters and Tempered apexes.

New mons are fun and their tempered versions took difficulty in the right direction, fights are finally a proper back and forth dance instead of bullying a ragdoll. If the new TU3 difficulty level does this for the entire roster, Wilds will manage to have a more worthwhile roster to fight than base World already.

They have a ways to go to fix performance for people who can't afford hardware costing thousands of dollars, so hopefully the fix that too.

It's actually really interesting in terms of how monster design and testing works.
There are some parts that make me laugh with hindsight though.

I don't think every monster is meant to be narratively stronger than the last. Like the average monsters in the basin aren't meant to be stronger than the apexes you just fought.
Gameplay wise that kind of has to be a thing most of the time though, to keep the player with a steady difficulty curve. And even then it's not always the case, Rompopolo should be a breather after you fought Tuna.

If anyone interested, Crit Draw GS is now pretty strong. Here's the build I made in two variants, both work really well.
It doesn't do exactly the same damage as a regular build, but it's very close and makes the fights much easier.
With Adrenaline, Razor's Edge, Agitator, Peak Performance and demon seed I had 324 raw.
Adrenaline Rush lasts 1 minute, Razor's Edge adds 15s, they are super easy to keep up.

Tested it against some 8* tempereds, 5 stars, solo with no cat

Revisiting all the maps and being able to freely explore during early HR just to see what new monsters you'd encounter was the most exciting section of the game for me, even if it wasn't very hard.
