I'm going to make an RTS where you control a captain and the squad is the units who move as a flock. Similar to Pikmin, you'll have multiple units following your movement.
You fire your weapon like it's a TPS, except I'll have a really wide rectangular reticle that the player units autoaim with.
I want it to feel like you're in hands on control of a squad or 20ish soldiers firing their guns. You'll try to take streets and manage the health of the units. In essence, the soldiers in your command are the "HQ" and you move across the map capturing objectives and switching tactics in real time.
A man dying in your platoon or whatever directly weakens your effectiveness.
but right now I got these cubes to move, I'll call it a night
