I wanted to call bullshit, so I did a quick bit of research, and found no corroboration.
So, I'm calling bullshit, but am willing me be proven wrong.

>Humans are the jack-of-all-trades race
Man, fuck that. We'd be the orcs of the stars.
>Higher gravity world
>Can digest and ingest an amount of toxins that are fatal to most things of similar size
>Extremely adaptable immune system
>Outer arm of our galaxy, so our planet is millions or billions of years younger
We might not be the smartest knives in the cookie drawers, but we're biologically set to be the brick shithouses of the galaxy when compared to other habitable-zone worlds. They either have too much gravity for any form of space travel to be possible from it, or are barely big enough to have an atmosphere.
Earth is right at the top of that cut-off for possible escape velocities. If we find aliens (or more likely they find us) we're likely going to be biologically dense compared to them.
