I don’t believe homosexuality as a sexual attraction exists. Or rather, if it does exists it’s such a tiny fraction of a percentage of the population that it’s not even worth discussing.
These men are bisexual but have taken a much easier, much more fun (for them) route. Just about anyone in their position would.
The dating market has absolutely cratered. There’s no denying that. But it’s been tough for decades. Online dating destroyed it. At the same time, online dating boosted gay “dating.” The later used to require a friend group or a gay bar, which isn’t appealing at all to most men.
But online? You can find anonymous sex within an hour. You can find a gay fuck buddy almost as easily and have regular, frequent sex. Or stay on Tinder forever and never date anyone. Or find a girl, have great sex for a few months, and watch it taper to basically nothing after a year.
A homosexual “lifestyle,” where a man exclusively has sex with other men, is absolutely real. No question. But he’s doing so because he fell down an easier path.

“Picking someone up at a bar” has always been a way overblown method. It makes for a good story, so we hear about it a lot and see it in movies and on tv, but it was never very common. It’s just become a sort of last resort since the collapse of social circles and the rise of online dating.
Social circles are still the answer. They always have been. But not everyone is on the same page so people just stick to social media. It’s pretty grim.
And you’re absolutely right about dating apps not being designed to actually get people together. If you want to see apps designed for that, check out Grindr and Sniffies.
I’m not gay, nor suggesting you should be, but everything from the UI to the basic design of these apps (one isn’t even an app, just a website) is so vastly different that it becomes apparent and tragically ironic; women ruined dating sites.
