The Romans pretty much lost control of the tiger they were riding when Marcus Aurelius died. After that, it was just usurper after usurper after usurper. Of course there were some non-Roman Roman emperors during the Crisis of the 3rd Century when all you needed to be emperor was to serve in the military and successfully kill the previous emperor. But even then, we don't know what the real ethnicity of those non-Roman Roman emperors was. There were plenty of Romans who colonized those areas because they got plots of land from military service. Unless the contemporaries specifically tell us what their heritage was, it's a 50/50 chance of them being a Roman colonial or one of the people getting colonized.

What I hate is that sauropods are depicted as peaceful creatures. What we know of herbivores in real life is that they tend to be hyper aggressive when they live around big predators. Moose will fuck you up 10 ways from Sunday. So will bulls. And boars. And elephants. And hippos. And giraffes. And etc.

Sauropods likely would've had a temper and would've killed shit just because. Especially because they had comically small brains and were likely among the dumbest dinosaurs. They would've been like rhinos and attacked anything that so much as spooked them.
