Unironically, Wilds is poised to have good sieges that are in-between old boring walking sieges and Rise's Rampages.
Instead of slaughtering monsters wholesale with emplacements in a tower defense mode, they can have players fight a handful of monsters in the game's larger maps where defeating them impedes the main monster in some way. The Frenzy monsters in Wilds already die in like 30 seconds to 2 minutes at the most.
There are already a bunch of environmental traps that can slow and damage a big siege monster. And the monster can move through multiple maps since they're all interconnected.
The main thing would be to do something like Kulve where the longer siege part is around for larger multiplayer events and there's a sequestered, more traditional arena fight with the siege monster that can be done separately as an option to avoid the siege part if people don't want to do it.
Let's all imagine if Wilds did something unambiguously good, for a moment.

Do you think Capcom would ever be brazen enough to make an endgame fight that "forced" weapon types? Like for instance if you couldn't prevent, dodge, or hide from a nova aside from having a Lance, GS, or Gunlance user block and make a safe zone behind them.
Surely they'd never do something like that, right?
