>To your second point, the fruit of vanity is that you become important not as a person but as a tool a symbol.
>It is essentially idolatry.
you can paint any sin as this if you sprout the entire form of it from disobedience alone. Madoka is not vain, she is simply not passive and obedient. The character who IS passive and obedient? that's hitomi, and the narrative makes it absolutely clear what subserviance gets you. Traditional values are not an escape from being used to destroy in the narrative of madoka. You ask why madoka then goes on to do anything other than NOT WISH

Narratively speaking we see the result of such behavior in hitomi; hardly an improvement in any way, she literally tries to kill herself and her friends. being ignorant to the truth of the world and suffering in order to earn salvation only earns her and madoka a death sentence. Madoka's choice was never to not make a wish
>b-but she said she wants to be around people!!!!!!!
I get that this is impossible for christfags to understand but sacrifice REQUIRES that you give up something meaningful to you. if Madoka did not want to come back it would not be a sacrifice. Similarly, if god dies for our sins but hes ackshully still alive then he didn't actually die for our sins.

In principle though the ironic thing is that God and Madoka are doing the exact same thing. They are rewriting the rules of the system to be more to their liking and less like they where in the past. The key point of divergence is that god, who is supposedly not vain in your eyes, absolutely and fundamentally requires that you suck him off and brown nose him to receive any salvation. While madoka drags those who do not want to be saved kicking and screaming. One is rewriting the rules of a system that is utterly indifferent to her, and the other created the very system he is rewriting in the first place.

Man, how dare madoka want to be with the people she cares about, what a vain person.
