The only thing Wuwa does better is higher fidelity (no shit, it's 5 years newer on a shinier engine), not locking traversal to characters, and flashier combat.
The music is a colossal downgrade, the writing is abhorrent, story and lore are nonsense wuxiaslop, the gearing system is the same shit as Genshin, the environments are linear vistas instead of having open exploration, and I'm not a fan of their character designs. But if you want to be a Chinese dragon ancestor cultivation god that created the world and all chicks are your harem and the rare male antagonist bows to you, it's the game for you.

I disagree actually. I think it's a lot better. You acquire gear from killing overworld mobs (Echoes) and can infinitely grind them if you so wish. Gear EXP however is time/energy gated but since you can grind gear infinitely, it means you can choose to toss out gear after 1-2 bad rolls, or take the risk to fish for more.

In the other games, you only obtain gear through spending energy so it creates a situation where you just login, spend energy, logout. Here you at least have the option to grind as much or little as you want.

This is fale, WuWa does this quite heavily. Cantarella has faster swimming than everyone else, and Phoebe has a flying skill that makes her much faster for traversal than anyone else in the game. People defend this because of the flying in Rinascita, but half the areas in the game does not allow flying and either you have Phoebe or you're in for a rough time when exploring those areas.

And you might want to look up what Phoebe's heavy attack do when traveling, it glides her forward very far and she can do so 6 times per jump. If you've heard anything about how Dawei runs Hoyo he's basically Phill Spencer and just lets teams do whatever they want. It worked with HSR as the team was made up of experienced Hoyo devs. ZZZ was an entirely new team and had little to no oversight. I'm totally comfortable putting wuwa's post-launch areas against any genshin region, they've all had very strong art direction. Character design I could understand a little more, but genshin certainly has its share of misses. To be honest I don't think either game could be carried by character design, I think only ZZZ's launch roster was good enough for that.
