I am a cityfag and have no real use for guns other than maybe someone breaking in to my house or robbing me, in which cases a simple pistol will suffice. So I’ll treat this like a thought experiment.

You’ll laugh at me, but a lightweight ar10 in 8.6 blackout, but with the caveat that one can use different 8.6 blackout loads. Mid weigh mid velocity supers, ultra heavy subs, and not-yet-made ultralight VLDs behaving just like the 7.92/7.62 CETME (like an OP intermediate). Mag capacity of 20-25 is adequate. Barrel maybe 12-14” (pretty good efficiency for the cartridge).

It’s between that and a CC pistol. Depends on how badly one needs a rifle to feed himself.

You guys have to promise not to bully me but I really like the Q boombox. Wouldn’t say it’s my favorite thing ever but I really like it. I’d own one if Cali ever lifted SBR restrictions. The idea of a very energetic short action “PDW” chambered in an SBR cartridge makes me grow tumescent. It’s also very aesthetic. Picrel.

8.6 has the potential to be a resurgence of the CETME cartridge, btw. The Ogive space and overbore ratio are just right. Someone really needs to make ultralight VLDs for it.

And for this next one, you will break my legs first before killing me, but I really like 8.6 blackout. I like thumpers, I like SBR cartridges, and I think there is a secret, dormant potential within it to be a resurgence of the CETME-style cartridge. The overbore ratio and ogive length are just right. One could duplicate the m855 trajectory with an ultralight VLD. It’s just a neat cartridge that seems like it can do anything.
