I genuinely have so much sympathy for you. Waited for more Chorfs since 2010-11 ish, and I was so fucking scared after seeing what they did to LRL for example.
It's a fucking miracle that they've made something I love. Fyreslayers and KO both have good lore, but I'm just so sour on their aesthetics.
One point I see being brought up in several places is that people are sad their chaos iconography is gone, with them now "just looking like evil Dwarfs".
That change is sort of baked into their identity now, as they view themselves as a culture who overcame the age of chaos by conquering it and using it as fuel for their society.
They are now bringers of (a ruinous and tyrannical) order, through chaos.
It's undeniable that they are thoroughly corrupted, despite the classical chaos faction delusion that "they are just using it, not the other way around".
I quite like that they are chaos aligned ancestor god worshipers. It makes sense to me that they are damning their souls to ruin compared to most of chaos.

>The question then becomes
I think this is neigh impossible to answer. One criticism I see is that their noses aren't big enough, but they are just as big as during the forgeworld release.
he big noses from the classic minis was there for the regular Dwarfs too, but it's was gone from their designs during 5th ed when the Chorfs didn't get any new miniatures.
So some of the complaints are from people who wouldn't have been happy with any modern rendition I think.

>I wanted them to look like the horns of hashut
Not to be an asshole, but I am so happy you didn't get your wish. I hate those.

They wrote good lore, and fucked up the minis with Fyreslayers.
They wrote good lore, and narrowly missed (but still missed) with KO
And they finally got everything right with HoH! Third time is the charm!
Hashut Hashut Hashut!

It's not that I don't think GW can make good new sculpts in their old style. Things like the new Orks in 40k prove they can without a shadow of a doubt.
It's that with AoS you could either go the GSG route, or you could go the Lumineth/Fyreslayer route. (I quite like Vanari, but that is besides the point.)
With CoS, Lumineth, Fyreslayers, OBR, and KO it feels like they've kept hitting one swing and missing the other. Votann is the same for 40k.
I'll tolerate unisex units or whatever as long as the heads are optional, but I really need them to hit their overall aesthetic.

>I don't think they could possibly satisfy all expectations people have on chorfs: too many aesthetics, too many units, too many memes and too many third party options.
This is a very fair point.
Case in point is me, I desperately want this to be my "main warhammer army", so I have a over a decade of expectations riding on this.
>If you want chorf-chorf, printing is the way
This is too logical of an opinion. I just want the plastic crack to hit right.

From what little time I spend on here nowadays I understand this general is very much under siege by perpetually online haters.
I guess I could have worded my post differently, but I just wanted and outlet for the 'tism I'm feeling in regards to the Chorf release.
