Can a game become bad retroactively, without being changed?
I liked Dark Souls on release based on some qualities I believed it had, but then they pumped out so many games like it that I realized those qualities have mostly been my projection, and the feelings the game caused were mostly a fluke rather than something intentionally intended

"Dark Souls prepares you for life"
>You lose all your money when you fail
>You lose all your consumables when you fail
>You are all alone
>Attacks are telegraphed counter-intuitively
>You aren't told anything
If you're that alone, unstable, unlikable, and retarded for this to be your life; playing more Dark Souls isn't gonna help.

The obvious one. I was one of those "it's just bullshit on purpose?" retards. Turns out there's always a strategy to a given encounter, even if it takes a bit of trial and error to figure it out.
