Even now dual analog isn't that great. It demands a lot of context sensitivity, the removal of potential ambiguity and the simplification of interaction, because you can't just do things by clicking directly on them, your accuracy is so limited that you can only hover nearby and hope that the system helps you perform the correct action.
>If you're implying that the same might happen with gyro
I'm implying that we should get over our obsession with using only one type of controller for everything, especially since it's generally far behind whatever the more suitable input method is. Controllers are no longer some cheap and simple input device for consoles with special plugs, practically every console has a USB input and the capability to run nearly any controller, the only reason they don't is because they're making bank on garbage build quality controllers sold at a premium.

>Shit was better in some things before, but not this one. This was garbage.
disagree. the problem with the old days was the barrier to publishing. before xbox live marketplace and steam opening things up to indie devs, indie games were basically nonexistant. you were at the whims of the major publishers. the magazines were good because they were able to cover most games that came out (whereas major publishers only cover major games they think there is already interest in) and actually had to provide something worth it to the reader because the reader was paying for them. there were dev interviews, spotlight put on AA and A games, demo discs, sometimes had community art sections, reviews that actually put effort into playing the game, etc. the magazine WAS ultimately just marketing, just an ad, but it was a lot higher value than some chick with giant tits and lowcut top badly playing a game while making jokes about foot fetishes OR some obscenely loud, cringey retard who ignores 90% of a game and doesn't understand its mechanics just to rush through it because that is more entertaining for the audience than actually engaging with it.
also, yes, journos were always retarded (pic related). but streamers are worse. defending the current status quo is a horrible thing.
