Varies by game. Primarily three types

- Games with free upgrade patches (Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening etc) - these run considerably better with higher frame rates and resolutions. The difference is typically very meaningful
- Games with paid upgrade patches (Mario Party Jamboree, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom etc) - these also run considerably better with higher frame rates and resolutions, however to access the enhanced performance you'll need to buy an upgrade pack. These paid ones typically also include Switch 2 exclusive content (eg new modes in Jamboree)
- Games with no patches. These may or may not perform better. They'll run at the same resolution, but if they struggled to reach their frame rate cap before, they may be able to brute force it now. Loading should be better also. How much this has an impact varies by game, but either way don't expect miracles.

Intentional to keep you coming back to the service and to make the service seem as if its getting new content regularly.

I think a better question is some of the stuff that is missing. All those Microsoft/Rare games and no Diddy Kong Racing style? No Smash 64? Should we expect no Melee for the same reason? Then there's the question of the Pokemon RPGs. They went out of their way to make them compatible with the modern games on 3DS which is why I think it makes sense why we haven't seen the GB/GBA Pokemon RPGs. The GameCube RPGs are a weird side thing that wasn't developed by Game Freak themselves so I wouldn't be surprised if those don't have any sort of connectivity to Home, but it would be nice if they did.

And then the BIG big question is if we'll ever see Animal Crossing
