Never played a Mario Strikers game. How is this one considered compared to the others? I used to enjoy football games occasionally (had ISS64 on N64 and would buy a cheap ass FIFA game every gen until this one, just to fuck around in them occasionally) and these look like fun versions of that but with crazier mechanics.

Playing Mario Kart and enjoying the upgrades to my Switch 1 games. Link's Awakening is like a dream edition of the game on Switch 2. 4K / 60FPS and they even reduced that ugly gausian effect around the border.

Its very fun. It's turn based combat. Very interesting level up mechanic. You get XP in combat but you dont actually level up. To level up, you take that XP from combat and in your home you can do exercises, you choose what exercises you do. Depending on what you choose to do you increase the corresponding stats (hp, str, magic, agi etc.)
You also craft potions and consumables at home a bit like atelier.
Then, you can recruit animal companions pokemon style, you lower their hp and then use a spell to bind them. You can use a companion in battle. Rhey can also have overworld abilites, like you can mount a pig that works like a mount, or go up hills with a bird.
The game is quite charming and cute without being perverted.

Anyone else really enjoy it?

It's pretty fun. Speaking of, in the maraca tech demo, I can clearly feel the rubber ball one, but the beads just feel like standard rumble. Probably a good sign if that's the biggest complaint I had.

Seconding Unicorn Overlord but also as a big fan of the Disgaea series, Switch's ports of 4 and 5 are really nice with the enhanced Switch 2 frame rates.

I tried fantasy life for 15 hours and just got bored with it.

That Fast Fusion update that lets you turn off DLSS is kind of mind-boggling. I didn't realize it made that much of a difference. Even though I don't like the weird reconstruction fizzle, it's impossible to go back to no AA.

I've been really enjoying Bayonetta 3, genuinely surprised at how much I'm enjoying it too, the story and tone is a little too all over the place but in terms of gameplay it's super solid. I love the Demon TF stuff as well. Hopefully if there's actually anyone left at Platinum who worked on the game they'll get a Switch 2 update for it down the line, a res boost would be nice.

Fusion has less tracks than RMX, therefore less content. 12 tracks by default + 3 added with an update from few days ago. Those 12 tracks are new, and added 3 are from RMX...but "tweeked" for Fusion's gameplay. You see, Fusion has a jump option now.
It still has championship, hero mode, and timw attack (which wasn't in RMX when the game kaunched but was added with an update, I think).

It's called Fusion because now you have the option to fuse any 2 vehicles into a new one.

There is no multiplayer, only 2-player share. Not surprising, because multiplayer for RMX didn't last long.

Overall I think I liked RMX more, but Fusion (even with less content) is still a good game.

Again, I get why they do it. I think it's a shit thing to do that is a net negative for the end consumer solely so they can keep a small element of brand prestige.

PlayStation, Microsoft have prestige as well, but they're still actually willing to put their shit on sale and no one (sane) is walking around saying Xbox's fucking problem is that they do sales that are more than 30% on their published games.

And again, when contemporaries in the same genre in the same sales range (eg Xenoblade 2 vs Tales of Arise) the idea falls flat. Xenoblade 2 is not prestigious enough to have never fucking gone on sale for more than 30% off in its entire 8 years since release.

Nintendo tend to be quite reactive when it comes to problems and tend to overcorrect, their pricing for games is an overcorrection from Steam sales which have killed the value of games, you don't have to wait a year games tend to go on sale mere months after launch, and Nintendo themselves don't even do discount re-releases anymore because of this.
Same thing with anti hacking measure on the Switch 2, Nintendo saw people playing Tears of the Kingdom before it even launched, saw big name games journalism website talking about emulating Switch games including linking roms and even Youtubers daring them to do something about them emulating these games, so Nintendo did, they locked that shit down tight and now just wreck your shit outright for fucking around, all just an overcorrection for everyone else's fuckery.

Depending on your expectations/personal preferences for the series, you may not be a huge fan of the Great Sea or a mid-to-late game segment where the game basically says "hey go out and explore lol". Regardless it's a great game and none of this is god awful - just a matter of taste. I'll say personally I'm so fucking happy it's not HD. I'm one of those people that fundamentally despises the lighting change. I think they did the one thing that misses the point of the originals visuals. The new lighting makes the whole game go from looking like flat colours to weird clay-like textures because of the gradients the bloom lighting introduces.

Any game that used dynamic resolution (quite a lot) will now almost hit max possible res. Poor frame pacing and frame drops are being brute forced by better hardware.
And then there are a couple cases (Rabbids Kingdom) that must have been double buffered, meaning that they were originally coded to hit 60fps if possible, but since that was never possible, the games defaulted to 30fps on S1 but now hit 60 on S2.
Bear in mind that while stuff like Bayo3 runs perfectly now, playing in handheld sucks for most games because they're still running in S1 handheld mode and thus are upscaled on the bigger S2 screen. I've been playing SMT V on S2 and it's still 30 but it feels and looks better, but only in docked mode.

I think it only updates if you download the Switch 2 enhancement, then again, there's a new cloning trick that works for the latest patch (both Switch 1 and Switch 2), check it out before you decide.

Sadly, Pokémon Savefiles come with the warning that the Savefiles for your switch 1 WILL be wiped after the transference, and it's either doing the full transfer knowing this, or just passing over the virtual game cards one by one

there's a filmware bug that not only makes you battery drain like crazy when the device is asleep (also a problem on the switch 1) if your device is connected to the internet
you can also do the same fix by disconnecting from internet wifi entirely which allows you to still use tabletop mode with detached joycons and BT headphones, but for whatever reason whenever you want to connect back you will have to input the router password every single time which is a hassle
