Is it acceptable to list my last position as "present" on my resume, even though I left several months ago? For context, many companies and third-party background check services require candidates to re-enter their actual employment dates during the hiring process. When that happens, I would, of course, provide the true dates I was employed.

I'm curious—what is the best way to approach this situation on a resume?
