It isn't. In the remote chance of the very lightest attacks, the hitstun the enemy suffers is so inconsistently short that there's a great change a second hit occurrs when the player is still in endlag, causing the player to get stunned and lose the trade

Anyone who says this is a complete retard that never used armor in Dark Souls 3. Even at 20 Vitality you can't mid roll with most sets.
Not that it matters because you can reasonably move and space reliably attacks in Dark Souls 3, and armor and poise ACTUALLY work so playing in fat roll is feasible as you get the stamina to move, the armor damage reduction to tank and the ability to inflict consistent hitstun to actually make it your own playstyle without breaking the game like passive poise in Dark Souls 1 did
