The lack of your personal accountability (someone to hold you accountable) as well as the subjectivity of human reason aside, your faith in yourself will crumble at some point of personal catastrophe and you will find you don't have all the answers, in fact you have absolutely none of them. Unfortunately this is the destiny for people with pride. As it was with me, so will it be undoubtedly for you. And if I could convince you with logical argument I would try my best in order to save you from that suffering, but I know I can't say anything that will change your opinion, your faith in yourself.

>If I could be even 1% the saint he was I'd be satisfied. I pray, I use my rope, I read scripture and still I'm angry.
CHECKED
Sincerely ask God to take your demons. And go out everyday trying to make the world a better place. It's not a light switch. But slowly over time the anger will abate when you replace it with the love of those you show grace to. It took a long time for the anger to get into you. It will take time for it to leave.

That's just blindness to your own state of being, as if you aren't sinful. That's the fundamental aspect of where our sense of humility and empathy comes from: we don't condemn other people due to their actions, because we know we ourselves are equally (if not moreso) sinful. It's just not lying to yourself and having real honest introspection, which then begets a desire to change.

Spoken like someone who has never tried being austere in any way shape or form. You just don't understand.

I know an awful lot of "born again" "Christians" who are objectively sinners.
It would be dishonest to suggest you yourself don't sin, either.

the degree to which we all participate collectively in the sins of society, whether actively by participation or passively through tolerance. "We support abortion and self-sterility through our consumption of pornography, we neglect the needy and the homeless, our society disdains the stranger and the alien, and we are all connected to usury." The expectation of giving without expectation of anything in return is Christ-like, that is how high the standard is and how difficult it is for us, it literally takes the Sinless One to do this.
Therefore as with everything, we must repent, and struggle against it with the best of our ability.

If you knew at all what you were talking about, you would know that if anything, Roman Catholics are "diet" Orthodox. But you don't seem to know anything about Orthodoxy, even though you posted that comment with certainty that you understand what you are talking about. At least you refrained from giving insult out of ignorance.
