Imagine if 10-player mahjong existed.
You'd almost never be the first one to riichi, so you're always folding. You'd have to contend with 5 players always being luckier than you for tsumo. Even if by some miracle you get the best haipai, 9 other people are there to steal it away from you. Every game would be an endless slog, watching other people play mahjong instead of you.
That's exactly how I feel about yonma.
