Anyone who pretends Gen 2 is bad is not a real fan of Pokemon.
Doesn't matter if they run the most famous Pokemon website, have played every game, watched every episode of the anime, read all the manga etc.
You just straight up aren't a real fan if you don't like the most soulful, feature-rich, full effort game in the entire series. End of discussion.

GSC are kino and they never let up. There is no drop off in quality, despite what zoomer YouTubers who wren't alive to experience the best games in the series on release might tell you.
They are also the true end to the original story and its debatable if Gen 3 and beyond are even canon.
