How come alot of sci-fi or fantasy stories never even mildly allude to the idea of different viruses or bacteria destroying or affecting the biology of humans and vice versa? You're telling me being near a Turian, Orc, khajiit or a Wookiee is 100% safe with no biological risks, that engaging in pon farr with the Vulcans carries no risks? Well maybe the latter was addressed at some point in ST.
