I left the office cubicle(same story as you) for the blue collar life and ever aspect of my life has improved significantly.
I am more fit, healthier, mentally much happier, i earn more, the work isnt that hard, the work is interesting and I'm always learning and trying new things, the work colleagues are mostly men and fun to be around, there is no office bs, my boss respects me and values me, i am able to purchase a (small) home for myself.
I was lucky with my employer, but I thank my past self for taking the risk.
Some of the work guys might become outside work friends, but i don't have any friends outside of work and still no gf. But two guys have mentioned trying to hook me up. Loneliness is hard to fix especially when i spent the last 18~ years with no friends or really leaving the house.
If you want to die but have the opportunity to mix shit up instead, take it.
