The Stay Gold Dynasty (part 5)
Nakayama Festa
>One of the worst tempered Stay Gold children. In his later career, his training stable found it almost impossible to train him.
>Since his retirement as a stallion and his transfer to Urakawa Farm (the same farm Nice Nature lived in), he seems to be much calmer.
>Came the closest to winning the Arc out of all the Japanese challengers, finishing the race in second place by a head.
>He is one of three Japanese horses to have finished second in the Arc, coming after El Condor Pasa and preceding Orfevre(‘s two second place finishes).
>While he was actively racing, the usual phrase that people said for him was that “when [Nakayama Festa] hits the jackpot, he really hits the jackpot” and that he “pursues the thrill of not knowing whether he’ll win or lose”.
>It also reflects the fact that Nakayama Festa doesn’t have the first tier ability, so he has to bet on conditions (such as the weather) or risk with tactics to win. One result was his performance at the 2010 Arc.
