I've spent my entire life watching 50% of the population receive blatant favoritism while being told the other 50%, including me, is bad and is somehow privileged in spite of overwhelming empirical and anecdotal evidence. My Bayesian framework is utterly opposed to this worldview, and yet women will not stop lying to me.
During any attempts to engage with people who espouse these opinions, they have not even attempted to remain logical, resorting to a combination of lies and emotional attacks that I later came to realize can only accurately be described as gaslighting.
I would ask simple questions:
>What legal protections do you men have that women do not? I can think of several rights women have that men do not, and the sentencing disparity is enormous.
>Why are you focussing on the income and political power of the top 0.001% of men and applying this to all men? What about the homeless men on the local high street?
>Why do you feel that men cannot be the victims of sexism?
>Why do you think the top 0.001% of men have the best interests of other men at heart? What actions have they taken to lead you to believe this? It would seem they are actively oppressing other men. You believe misogyny can be internalized; why not misandry?
>Why do you never mention areas where women statistically fare better, such as education or life expectancy?
I've had to listen to female professors at a 75% female university complain about how women are disadvantaged in the admissions process for university. When I mentioned that 3/4 of the audience was female, studies have repeatedly shown women benefit from non-anonymized marking including MMIs, and that men, specifically White men, have been the least likely intersection to go to university for nearly 20 years, I was told this was all the product of toxic masculinity.
