Fred Durst was never that.
and also the touring lifestyle doesn't lend well to being healthy, almost every punk rocker and nu metaller from the 90s got real fat real fast. You live on a fuckin bus where every drinks themselves to sleep, you only have catering slop at best at major festivals, beef jerky and whatever other gas station slop while driving from concert to concert, obviously no gym, lack of sunlight, etc.
and then all the mental baggage of basically being child stars when they became overnight millionaires when they were teens/young adults.
Other than the top 1% of the top 1% (which Limp Bizkit isn't), very few of them end up taking care of themselves

practically all the places that existed 20 or 40 years ago are still around. Yes a few of them are more or less completely wiped off the map of most places, or if they're still around there are fewer of them.
But it's not like bars/pubs/pool halls/indie rock cafés/night clubs/warehouse raves and bookstores/record stores/specialty shops as well as gym/other sporting social events are completely wiped off the map everywhere and a thing of the past.
It could be anything anywhere, go to a renaissance fair or LARP group, arcades are making a comeback, learn skateboarding and buy weed from 19 year olds under a bridge, etc. The world is your playground my dude

As a short guy you're better off going twink/otter mode rather than going full dwarf mode complete with a giant beard, fuckin hell there's an entire race of people that consists entirely of short men they're called latinos. They just learn how to dance with women and go with the romantic angle and/or tough guy persona.

The whole point of going alternative is to cast a smaller net in a smaller pond. You want to be with your own people, not with normies.
There ARE some big & muscular metalheads/punks/goths/emos/whatever other alternative subculture, but most of them are just skinny dudes.
There's also skinny average or even short guys that get gfs you permacoper
