why are we conscious, why do we feel pain and pleasure and understand our thoughts

why did we never talk about this in school or anything, it is like we live in a world of NPC zombies to whom such things never occur

Why is Jesus never correcting people who bow down (προσκυνέω) to Him but says you should do προσκυνήσεις to God alone in Matthew 4:10? Angel in Rev 22:8-9 corrects John when he bows down to him.
