You’re not wrong here. And I also think it’s a bit more nuanced. Vanquish, a really fantastic game, is more about third person cover shooting than it is about melee imo. I think the game wants you to shoot more, as ammo is abundant and melee drains your meter too quickly. I see melee as more of a finisher, or a hit-and-run attack in Vanquish. Wanted Dead in comparison is a little more balanced. One could make the argument that it has a heavier emphasis on melee combos, but third person shooting headshots (especially on bullet time) work very very well and it is crucial for getting out of tough spots. I’ve read many reviews that say third person shooting is useless in the game but I disagree heavily as long as you aim for the head. Gun upgrades make a big difference too. Ammo is provided just about the right amount for the 50/50 balance imo
I can’t comment on Devils Third as I haven’t played it, I dont have a Wii U. Although technically it’s fps not tps

Mort or Electric whatever guy is actually spot on about Wanted Dead. Especially the part where he talks about how Wanted Dead’s combat shines managing the grey areas between melee and tps in a way other games haven't really done. It’s a fun stick and move hack and slash shooter thats well worthy of a playthrough if you like challenging Stylish/Character/Violence action games. It’s not a contrarian sensationalist opinion anymore it’s actually a good little weird game
