How long time passes on Genshin is weird. But since Albedo said she got the Heart artifact before he even arrived in Teyvat, I wonder if this Imaginarium Theater comment by Alice covers her schizo relationship with Naberius.

It's probably the best, most realistic portrayal in a WEG of a brother and sister coming to terms with their inappropriate feelings. You'll know exactly when it all goes to shit, so you can stop playing there. It's impossible to miss because you go from comfy cuddle time to wanting to throw your computer out of the fucking window over the course of 3 lines of text. Honestly, the lines following that moment ret-con the entire fucking relationship by telling you one of her pet names she uses for you is what her molester wanted to be called, meaning she was cucking you the whole time and fantasizing about him.

That has nothing to do with character quests being integrated to the main plot. For example, Tribbie's past and present are very connected to the characters' main goal. It's not a NPC fiesta or something mostly irrelevant. Genshin only has a few retcons, the main issue is how Fat Xiao chose to ignore important lore points and put them in side quests and object lore. Now this is biting him in the ass as he plays catch-up with a huge part of the playerbase. Basically, his issue was pacing. Having someone like the electro Lightkeeper be connected to the Moon Goddess/Nod-krai more deeply is different from learning more about Yoimiya's generosity in her mandatory quest as she helped random NPCs or have Aventurine go through his past for a long ass time, which messed up the pacing since it wasn't directly connected to Penacony itself.
Thus why I said whether this change is a good thing depends on Fat Xiao's plans.
