I cant prove this now since Elon made likes private but Kenji Watanbe used to like Mignola's art on Twitter. He always said Digimon was inspired by comic book arts. However I don't know if it's actually designed by Kenji Watanabe. And even if it wasn't someone else might be a fan.

It was on twitter on that raval guys lore or interview translations. Kenji also said dark Crystal's dog thing inspired Tokomon. The there's unconfirmed shit like how I found Kenji Watanabe liked Hellboy official art on twitter before everything was private. Holydramon is Falcor. Kenji has good taste.
