The main playable cast/phantom thief members in Persona 5 are all insufferable except for Yusuke.

I wasn't really shocked by what happened because the game seemed set up for constant tragic things to happen. Especially with the way the scene itself plays out, where the screen starts fading to black multiple times with the ominous music to show that Renoir is near. It felt like death was pretty close and there was no way Maelle was gonna die that soon.

Honestly I think after playing so many games in the last 15 years that have miserable stories and miserable things happening to all the characters, his death was more of a "well that was expected." sort of deal. They even showed you how effortlessly Renoir fucked them up at the beginning. This was meant to be tragic and awful for everyone involved from the very beginning.

I don't understand the lore of cliffracers exactly. It feels strange that a flying creature that spends its time in high altitude areas would bother chasing a random humanoid across the fields so aggressively. It feels like the Nerevar just has an aura that pisses off every wild animal in a 4 mile radius, it doesn't really make much sense at all. In all the RPGs I've played, I think Morrowind has the least immersive wildlife possible. It's really impressive.

I know the whole cliffracer thing is just a funny haha meme thing regarding Morrowind but the Nerevar has to have done something in his past life to piss a species off so much that the creature is WAITING for you to come back after recalling just to try kicking your ass. You have to genuinely sit here and wonder why a fucking bird creature stood by for a week, pissed off at you, waiting for you to return to Ald-ruhn so it peck at you. It never once broke aggro. It remained pissed off, unchanging, fervently, ready to strike while I was taking care of chores somewhere else.

Holy fucking shit, man.
