it doesn't seem too bad for the chief of police to not show up to work on a sunday once, and her coworker takes note of it.
what DOES make me scratch my head is why does toriel not notice? i'd have thought that she'd try to talk to the chief of police the morning after to see if she'd seen anyone around the house.
maybe she's the one that reported the disappearance, and just didn't want to worry the kids with it? does make it a bit wacky to get drunk the night after, though, given how her tires got slashed, she saw someone was lurking outside, and the chief of police vanished when she asked her to check it out. i chalk it up to multiple-real-life-years-passing-between-chapters-so-this-stuff-falls-between-the-cracks.
