>it looks like a game from the last great year of gaming
Is that why it's still nice to look at while only being 2gb?

Not only are you right about ground vehicle behavior, they are also dumb and get bunched up around objectives or even at spawn sometimes. I don't have plebbit or use discord, but someone who does should encourage them to do at least a few improvements to vehicle behavior.
The naval side of things is much better. Watching ships go to work is really cool. Those destroyer railguns are scary.

I'm not exactly being strategic about it, but I generally trend towards knocking out radar stations/trucks and SAMs, especially boltstrikes and stratolaunchers, and then once the air space is safer, start blowing up factories/depots/hangars that let the enemy spawn stuff. Then I can just wipe out ground vehicles without being troubled.

Very difficult but I can do it semi-reliably. Hard turning (450-700 kph seems to be the best turning speed for most planes) + being near ground or having clutter behind you + using jammer + notching and it usually passes by me.
If you notice the enemy team has fighters in the air, I like to keep an eye on my map to see if any missiles are moving in my general direction.
