Probably not the answer most people want to hear, but I actually really appreciate things like accessibility features and easy modes for games. I think they should always be a setting that you can toggle on and off, but I appreciate them being there.
My mom got into video games maybe 5 years ago, and she's actually been able to play a lot because of shit like customizable difficulty, invincibility settings, auto-leveling, things like that. She fucking loves games, but she's at an age where sifting through things like Pathfinder WotR's leveling system, or trying to keep up with the action in Fallout 4 (even with VATs), is a bit much and can really get her down knowing she probably won't be able to enjoy the game to the fullest. But because of those kinds of settings, features, and considerations, she's beaten so many games. BG3, Fallout 4, BotW, No Man's Sky, Pathfinder WotR, Mass Effect 1-3, and tons more.
Again, I think it should be a setting you pick. Like, the dumbass yellow paint nonsense. Just make a setting where people can get rid of all that stuff. But then keep a setting for people who genuinely need it. I don't know, I just appreciate having those settings since it means people like my mom can enjoy games.

I started playing this some time ago and got up to where you're kidnapped by the cowboy weirdos obsessed with humans.
I assume from the first few posts it gets better? Because so far the game is extremely tedious, both in gameplay and writing. The battles are generally fine, but so many enemies have weirdly lengthy bullet patterns or require 3-4 turns to spare. And the story/characters so far are incredibly dull. I haven't had a single moment that got a chuckle out of me despite being one of those dumbasses that found every joke in Undertale to be the most hilarious shit out there. The bird girl is charming to an extent, but the dull vampire looking guy was garbage, and the cowboy dude and weirdly anime fox woman are just there so far.
Also, why does every single NPC talk your ear off? My thumb was genuinely getting sore going through dialogue since even generic gag characters have like, 5-6 full text boxes of talking, then more if you talk again. Maybe I'm looking back on Undertale with rose-tinted glasses, but I swear most NPCs had 1 or 2 sentences, a quick gag, and that was it. It kept things snappy.
I probably shouldn't judge too harshly considering how Undertale doesn't get into proper story telling much until the last third of the game, but still. I feel like I'm just moving from scene to scene without a single laugh or fun moment. It feels really plain. It gets better, right?
