Honestly, I feel like after the initial wave of Street Fighter II and MK every fighting game ever made committed to making bosses blatantly unfair and cheap. Like in MK1 where Goro was mildly cheesy to MK2 where Kintaro engaged in blatant input reading and had impossible counters and was so rigged that the only viable strategy was to lure him into the corner and and stunlock him which wasn't even something they intended so much as they overlooked. Or fucking Azazel from Tekken 6. Blocking *while* attacking should never, ever be a thing.
I feel like fighting games would be a less niche genre if you could still enjoy them as a single-player experience. But instead you try to play through fairly and eventually find you've been given an impossible task and the only solution is cheese strategies where you find the loopholes in the AI and spam one or two moves. I mean...why? So you created a boss who cannot be beat by normal means and forced players to play like AI. Congratulations. You made le heckin' epic legendary boss. And all you had to do was break the fucking game and make it a miserable experience. Assholes

The time attack mode is absolutely fucking terrible, though. Some of the target times in hard mode are just completely unreasonable, especially #3 which is borderline impossible unless you do everything more or less perfectly through the entire run specifically manipulate the colossus AI at certain points in a way that's not really congruous with the normal gameplay, and also just get lucky.
They're all technically possible, sure, but it's just frustrating as hell because the colossi hav too much randomness in their patterns to consistently reproduce perfect runs down to the second. It's one of the japanese things where you're supposed to beat your head against the same wall until you randomly get lucky one time and the completely arbitrary thing you need happens the way it needs to. I refuse to believe even the devs could beat #3 with any consistency. It takes all the fun out of the game and turns into a mad scramble against an unforgiving RNG. FUCK those time trials. I only did it once on PS2 and I won't ever try again

Yeah same I did this once and never again. By the end I was doing it out of pure stubborn spite and refusal to admit defeat. Kinda hated the game and the devs by the time it was over
Titan mode in general has multiple moments of absolute bullshit but the translator takes the cake because it's a fucking escort mission. They did not take this section into account when tweaking enemy damage scaling and just shrugged and decided it was the player's problem. It's one of the most poorly balanced sections of any game I've ever played.
Titan mode is actually not consistently bad and like 90% of it is a reasonable challenge but the worst 10% is so bad it makes it an unenjoyable experience overall.
