I hate larpers. Ultima Online's world was fucking empty to accomodate people placing houses wherever they wanted, this shit wouldn't fly in any game nowadays. Also because of this, the world was very immersion-breaking because it's just forests, mountains and people's houses everywhere with their shitty decorations, all with different clashing styles, in places that make no sense.

Same, though I'd go a bit further back than that. The mid-2000s spawned a lot of awkward shit that would evolve into what people now refer to as reddit humor. Consolefags were also increasing in number, and they were an absolute cancer.
