I found it alright other than the minimum % kills since that shit forces you to plan a route beforehand
I only tried modern wow in shadowlands for mythic dungeons but we were only 3 in my group of friends and didn't roll meta classes so no kiting tank for us.
Also, dealing with 2 different randoms every run wasn't fun.
I did run some dungeons without them and trying to push ranks with randoms was a crapshoot

I find it pretty funny that OSRS is absorbing all the wow streamers. I think deep down wow players want longevity and the game has become nothing more than Escape From Tarkov MMO edition with its seasonal patching wiping progress. There being constant wipes is the same exact thing as playing a new server every 12 months for classic players and Retail its every other patch. Really strange as no other MMO seems to have this problem save for FFXIV. I would play OSRS again I just don't care for the isometric angle and the boring combat. Maplestory Classic is what I want to play again.

I remember going through private servers and having an experience closer to what I had when playing WoW back in the day community-wise. A lot more patient people. Not everyone was patient, of course, but it was far closer than the meta-rot classic's community made itself suffer from.
These games are only sustained by their community and how much fun or amusement they collectively generate. Getting a balanced community between being decent/good at the game as to not make it a suffering experience and the sociability of it is difficult.
I would 100% rather get on a private server and quit after maxing a character or two talking with people and doing dungeon runs than deal with any official blizzard servers. The community is absolutely shot there and there's no going back. Private servers are questionable and/or broken but they still have potential to have a salvageable community. They're not typically big enough that you can just discard people.
I want to see blizzard die if only because private servers will see a resurgence, and that filters out the people who are too attached to their accounts. These games are utterly disposable in the end. Their servers, their characters, nothing lasts forever. That is a lesson genuine blizzdrones needed hammered into their skulls decades ago.

I skipped WOD and only kitted out my garrison many years later, but I didn't mind it because it had so many convenience items.
