I'm going to be honest, since playing XIV, WoW needs a character update so badly. Trying to play this game again with it's outdated character models/animations is torture.

It genuinely felt weird, like i was a voyuer listening to someone pray irl. then when she came out with all of the paladins, i thought there was going to be a massive reveal and pay off.. some incredibly moment, but there was nothing. they were just faceless drones that she summoned from the sunwell? what a pile of shit.

people make fun of anduin therapy and girlboss sylvanas in shadowlands, but even those trailers had more heart in them. this was just a soulless travesty. it felt like a hollywood shlocky action film made to perform well in china for the bugmen. embarrassing.

You don't get it anon, they DID do the fanservice correctly. You are no longer the fan or the target audience. WoW's target audience are middle-aged women and balding fat men that play the game with their wives that buy the family pack $90 store mounts everytime they release. Girl boss Xalatath, love and friendship will overcome evil the expansion. Season 8 GOT tier writing, but somehow worse. Enjoy.

Wait - why is that you guys like this new zone? The presentation is good, sure, with nice music and visuals, but that's pretty much where the praise stops.

The story isn't awful but its pretty bog standard angsty elf melodramatic fantasy shit. The gameplay is fine, but we had zones exactly like this back in WoD - there's 0 innovation whatsoever here. And the combat is inherently flawed - regular quest mobs just get 1 shot while the world boss is just a bullet sponge so strategy in fights becomes completely pointless. Other players just kill shit for you, so having a good strategy doesn't actually achieve anything beyond making the fights a bit shorter. And the exploration sucks pretty badly.

It's not the worst patch zone we've seen but it's a 7/10 at best really. I guess if you really really like the story you would rate it higher, but it's pretty much onions marvel tier desu, so if you do like it that much you just have pretty bad taste really.
