Man of Steel actually tried to treat Superman like a serious character; first contact, identity, burden of power and Gen X critics couldn’t handle it because it didn’t come with a laugh track and a post-credits shawarma joke. “Why isn’t he quipping like Iron Man?” Because it’s Superman, not some smug Reddit avatar in a cape.
These faggots wanted Whedon-tier sarcasm every five seconds. They wanted Clark Kent doing zingers mid-genocide. “Uhh awkward!” “Did I do that?” Get fucked. MoS had consequences, tone, mood shit Marvel hasn’t had once since like Winter Soldier, and even that part of Marvel had him talking to a talking racoon just 2 years later

Yeah, because he's processing the fact he had to exterminate the last of his race to save the planet (like he did in Superman 2). They rejected the mythic version of Superman because it made them feel something and didn’t come prepackaged as content for reaction YouTubers. So now you get this new soft-reboot garbage where he talks like a Starlord and they frame political debates like it’s fucking Falcon and Winter Soldier again.
They did this. They chose this. They spit on the last real Superman and now you're stuck with content-farmed nonsense written by people who think “hope” means quipping at the camera while everything explodes in the background.
