>Oguri was said to be in love (or at least attracted to) a New Zealand filly named Horlicks. Horlicks came to Japan in 1989 to contest in the Japan Cup, which she then won.
>Because Oguri was a glutton, trainers and other staff said that he never looked up from his trough of food no matter what. >However, whenever Horlicks passed by, he seemed glued to her presence and would keep staring at her. When he couldn’t see her anymore, he went right back to looking at his food.
>In the 1989 Japan Cup, he wouldn’t stop looking at her in the paddocks. They were even placed next to each other in the gate. When the race started, Oguri made a mad dash for Horlicks and was right behind her the entire race.
>Horlicks broke the 2400m course world record in that race - by two seconds.
>This also made Horlicks the only foreign horse to ever be featured in JRA’s commercials (JRA’s The Winner commercial for the 2012 Japan Cup).
>Two mating requests were made by Oguri Cap’s team to Horlicks’s team after retirement but both were turned down.

F in chat for this fat fuck.

Oguri Cap (2/???)

>In her non-GI winning pose and in Cinderella Gray (before the Pegasus Stakes), she trembles out of energy. This is a reference to him trembling in preparation for a race, like he was a warrior going out to battle. The in-game scenario “Warrior’s Tremble”, which gives an extra stat boost to a horse girl before a race, is also a reference to this.
>Oguri Cap has great battle instinct, he knows who his biggest rival is (this is shown at 1988 Arima Kinen, Oguri Cap only paid attention to Tamamo Cross).
>Oguri Cap runs with his head lower, making his whole body almost horizontal to the ground, which gives him extra thrust power and reduces aero drag (like how motorcyclists and skiers will do the same). His hooves also dig deep into the ground when running. His running style is emphasised a lot in Cinderella Gray, but unfortunately not in the game.
>Jockey Minai Katsumi compared Oguri Cap with Narita Brian (whom he won the Triple Crown with): “Both horses are powerful and have a very similar way of accelerating.”
>Oguri Cap usually starts running with his right leg first, which makes him run better at clockwise courses.
>He is also very calm, and you never see him go berserk in a race. He is not easily affected by crowd cheers and yellings.
>Oguri Cap is very serious about race, so he doesn’t know when to relax. His jockey has to assist him.
>Oguri Cap has a lower heart rate than regular horses, so he can keep his condition for longer. His heart is also larger.
