TM Opera O Factoids (1/2)
>Despite his father being very successful (Opera House was a multiple GI winner from the UK), his bloodline was thought to not be suitable for Japanese courses, so TM Opera O’s price was very cheap - only 10 million yen.
>However, he ended up earning more than 1.8 billion yen.
>His RL Nickname: “End of the century (centurial) overlord” (世紀末覇王). He started his legend at the turn of the century (1999) and all of his major victories were in 2000.
>His triple crown year being unsuccessful marked little interest in him, with the year following being a shock to trainers and fans alike.
>TM Opera O remains as the only horse in history to champion at all of the senior classical races in Japan - and he did that in the same year.
>Her in-game ‘theatre kid’ personality and delusional sense of grandeur were contributed from the fact that TM Opera O’s greatest feats were almost like reading an adventure story.
>TM Opera O’s horse girl design borrows a lot of elements from his jockey Ryuji Wada, who rode the horse from his debut to retirement.
>People like to joke that it was TM Opera O who rode Wada, not the actual way around. It was partially true because there were times TM Opera O moved by himself in races and produced a better result (he knew that the human on his back isn’t trustworthy).
>Wada was often mocked by media outlets as an unworthy jockey for such a powerful horse
>Norihiro Yokoyama: “If it was me on TM Opera O’s back, he would be a Triple Crown horse already”.
>At the time, Wada was still very much a rookie jockey; to have so much success with TM Opera O really surprised him and he credits the horse for teaching him how to jockey.

>The 2000 Arima Kinen is almost unbelievable with other horses trying to form a wall around him (intentionally) to prevent him from winning. But he somehow left all of them in the dust by finding a different way around.>It’s said that other jockeys united and planned this scheme ahead of the race, Yutaka Take included (and many fans claimed that he was the mastermind behind this). Since most horses joining the blockade belonged to Shadai, it’s named by fans as “Shadai Blockade”>Ryuji Wada gave up the idea of winning half-way in the race, but Opera O found his own way out.>Wada cried after he won the race because he felt he was too incompetent.>The blockade was again formed in the 2001 Takarazuka Kinen (claimed by some fans to be initiated by Yukio Okabe), and this is probably the reason why he lost to Meisho Doto.>He retired on the same day as his biggest rival - Meisho Doto. Their retirement ceremonies were held together. In-game, they're shown to be friends.>Just like Tokai Teio, TM Opera O liked to escape from his ranch. But unlike Tokai Teio, he usually can’t find the way back home.>Wada loves his fans and is generous with them, like horse girl TM Opera O is with her fans.>The seven rings on TM Opera O’s fingers represent the seven GI titles she earned.>His prize ranking ranked 4th among all of the Japanese horses. However, if converted by today’s rate, it would be more than 3 billion yen, which makes him the richest horse in Japanese history.>Opera could be stubborn. If he felt that he trained enough that day, he would walk back to his stable and refuse to train anymore.>He would still bite Ryuji Wada, and he threw Wada off onto the concrete floor once.>He is also the first horse to break the Fall Tenno curse (since 1988, the most favoured horse always failed to win the Fall Tenno-sho. The Silence Suzuka incident was one such case of this curse.)

Meisho Doto Factoids
>Was dirt cheap by horse sale standard - his owner purchased him with merely 5 million yen. He earned nearly 1 billion yen in return.
>Due to a misunderstanding of language, Meisho would mimic the staff that attended to him and put on an angry face when TM Opera O was mentioned.
>However when Meisho encountered TM Opera O in stables or at races, they were actually incredibly friendly. Making it likely Meisho doesn't actually know what the words TM Opera O refer to.
>Never the less, when visited by TM Opera O's jockey- Ryuji Wada- Meisho became aggressive and delinquent-like.
>It's possible that Meisho believes Wada is the 'TM Opera O' her team hate, and not the horse he rides.
>Despite the timid nature displayed in the anime and game, Meisho was a feared horse during his day. He lost frequently to Opera O, but Only to Opera O. Making him a 'demon' to try to 'over-come' to other jockey's and their steeds.
>He is surprisingly a boss horse, managing to make Taiki Shuttle and Rose Kingdom his lackeys after retirement.
>It also became apparent that Meisho is, according to Japanese fans, a 'dirty old man'. Hungry for mares and the chance to breed with them.
>It's said when introduced to a potential mate in his sire years, he'd stare eagerly.
>He does however possess a softer side. He is fine with being surrounded by lots of goats (while Taiki Shuttle doesn’t like it). He is building a good relationship with farm cat Meto. He allowed a wild raccoon dog to live in his stable during the winter time.

Personally however I feel like TM championing all the classical races in a single year- Not to mention doing so when other jockeys were collaborating to stop him- Should really be accomplishment enough for him to be in that discussion. The Overlord of Century's End was a monster and should be appreciated as such. Even if Ryuji Wada was a total shitter.

Nishino Flower Factoids
>Her design is meant to make her look small as the real filly was really small, which made training stables refuse to take her in at first.
>One trainer, Masahiro Matsuda, looked at her and was hesitant. When recalling the first time he saw Nishino Flower, he said she was “all legs and no width, like Bambi” and that “her own sneeze could knock her over”. But he had a gut feeling about her and took her into his stable.
>She had a bad temper and did not get along with humans. She lost many races due to not obeying the jockey's commands.
>Nishino Flower had 11 children who were all pretty successful.
>There are scenarios where she interacts with Seiun Sky, Agnes Tachyon and Taiki Shuttle. This is because she mated with all of them in real life.
>Seiun Sky, however, was considered her 'true love'.
>Notably Nishino Daisy (their off-spring) won the 2022 Nakayama Daishogai, making him the first descendant of Seiun Sky to win a GI. He beat the strong 9 JGI winner Oju Chosan.
>Some scenario's will jokingly have Taiki Shuttle 'stealing' Nishino away from Seiun to play into this history
>She was buried beside Seiun Sky’s grave after she passed away.
>Nishino Flower is regarded by Nishiyama as the saviour of the farm. The horse’s excellent performance earned enough prize money to save the farm from the verge of bankruptcy. Her epitaph says: “From a genius girl to a great mother, we are showing our gratitude here to the famous mare that saved Nishiyama Farm.”

>On race days or even when just training, if Baba was not with him, he wouldn’t approach the gate or begin exercise. Shigeru Inagaki commented that, “It is very rare for a horse and a person to have that much trust in each other.”>Before the week of a race, Baba would mix pit viper powder into Nice Nature’s feed. Pit viper powder costs 15,000 yen per serving but Baba paid for them out of his own pockets.>This is referenced in the game. If you put Nice Nature in the main screen, she would say she wants to order viper powder from the TV shopping channel.>Upon discovering the leg injury that would cause Nice Nature to retire, and despite it being so small that it would be okay for him to race in the Arima Kinen to create the record, Baba pleaded to Yoshiharu Matsunaga to let Nice Nature retire with tears in his eyes. Trainer Matsunaga replied: “If it’s a request from you (Baba), the man who knows Nice Nature the most in this world, then I have to comply.”>The reason why Baba grew very concerned was because he saw what happened to Rice Shower in the 1995 Takarazuka Kinen.>Baba liked to interact with Nice Nature’s and his own fans. He would decorate Nice Nature’s stable with the paper cranes he received and would casually hand out masks and bibs to fans. >He was the most visited horse at Ritto Training Center at the time.>Nice Nature has long served as the model horse to promote welfare programs for retired horses. Every year on his birthday, there’s a crowdfunding to gather money to help the retired horses. Usually it gathers about a million yen. However, the popularity of Uma Musume boosted that money significantly. His 2021 crowdfunding gathered near 36 million yen,

Do you guys ever stop to think about how evil the idol part of uma musume is?
Imagine you're training your whole career for this single race, the day comes, you're at your peak, but something happens while you're on the track and you end up losing. It feels surreal, there are tears streaming down your face and distorting your vision but you don't even feel it, for all you know your life ended on that finish line. Then you hobble towards the changing room, get dressed, and you're forced to come on a stage to sing and dance next to the bitch who just minutes ago stole your dream right before your eyes, in front of an audience of tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people. Even worse, you may just be relocated to serve as background for her, while she gets to shine in the spotlight.
It makes sense why they're playback singing and everyone besides the top 3 is usually hidden away in the shadow.
I posted this before but no one responded so I guess no one cares? But at my last job I bicycled past a horse stable. One day I saw a stallion pissing. It genuinely mesmerized me. The stream did not look like water. It was like a solid yellow tube. For like 5 seconds glancing to the right while bicycling, I didn't really understand what I was looking at. Did the horse have some kind of medical tube attached to its penis? But no, they just piss really fucking hard.

If you're just trying to get shit done, pick Bakushin or Haru, put them in the Front Runner position (don't worry about the rank), grab as many speed cards you can get and spam nothing but speed training. >Four Races Run Against The Strongest Peers. >Four Races Won In Complete And Utter Dominance. >After winning the Satsuki-Sho IRL, Agnes Tachyon developed a bowed tendon, causing him to retire.>Became known as the 'phantasm triple crown winner', a horse believed to have had the potential to have taken the triple crown if they didn't become injured. >Fuji Kiseki, who shares this nickname, had some debate on whether or not they could truly achieve this due to existing rivals at the time. >Agnes Tachyon did not, for none amongst the track could be called their rival. >After his initial performances, many trainers feared competing against Tachyon due to his strength. Thus the movie portraying them as a mind-breaking intimidating figure.>Jungle Pocket's belief that their victories are fraudulent due to Tachyon's absence in the movie reflects the real life press coverage of the time. Horses who found victory in high profile races were disregarded with messages such as 'But were Tachyon present...' >According to the first volume of the artbook, her four zippers represent Agnes Tachyon’s four wins in four starts.

>This fragileness was inherited by his children too. While many of his children had excellent speed and could win some big races, they developed injuries early in their career and were forced to retire.>IRL Fans joked Agnes set a “Pokion-timer” to his children, making them easily susceptible to breaking their legs (‘Poki’ is the sound of a bone breaking).>Agnes Tachyon is the father of Daiwa Scarlet. Thus their relationship in-game.>He gets extremely noisy when meal time is approaching, desperately trying to get people’s attention for providing food. (This occurs in game too.) >He also hates to be left alone, and would cry for someone to accompany him.>One of Swimsuit Tachyon’s upgraded skills is called “Dazzling Luxon”. This makes reference to Luxon, a Kyushu-region horse whose damsire is Agnes Tachyon (her father is Eishin Flash, by the way). She was one of Kyushu’s finest horses up until her untimely death.>'Tachyon' refers to a theoretical particle that moves beyond the speed of light. This is where their science gimmick comes from.

Daitaku Helios, the Gyaru Honse, Factoids
>Smiles in every single race. He received the nickname “smiling horse” or “dumb horse” because of this.
>In the game, she smiles no matter which place she ends up finishing in a race.
>Fans think he can read the news. Every time he is favored in a race, he loses; when he is not favored, he wins.
>This contributes to her gyaru personality because gyarus love to stay trendy.
>Formed the “baka escaping duo” with Mejiro Palmer. If they join a race together, they are always the one leading. However, since Daitaku Helios is essentially a mile racer, he usually drops out first.
>They were the ringleaders of the 1992 Arima Kinen or, as fans call it, the “BakArima Kinen”.
>He seems to look attractive to fillies and mares, but it somehow does not work on Daiichi Ruby. The contrast between him and Daiichi Ruby is huge (from appearance, pedigree to personalities. Daiichi Ruby came from GI winning parents while Daitaku Helios’s were the opposite. So she’s usually portrayed as an ojou-sama and he’s a country bumpkin), so they became a very popular pair for horse racing fans to ship through various means. In reality, they never mated.
>He usually ran well whenever Daiichi Ruby raced, which added to the shipping fuel.
>They have their own popular fan comic too, HeliosRuby: A Love Story, in Umanari Ichi Furlong Theatre.
>In the world of Uma Musume, Daitaku Helios fell head over heels for Daiichi Ruby upon first meeting her, calls her ‘her type’ and asks for her to become her “schmoopy-poo”
>This leaves her tragically ignorant of the fact that Mejiro Palmer is in love with her
>Once acted dead and scared the shit out of his grooms.
>In the world of Uma Musume, she sometimes does this to freak friends and trainers out.
>In her hall conversation, she mentions that she has a “crazy aunt” named “Ya-chan”, this refers to Kaburaya O, the horse’s actual uncle, nicknamed “the insane runner”.
>>714617932It depends really on the place and the horse's own temperament.
Ones that people learn to ride on are usually older and pretty mellow horses that won't easily spook or freak the fuck out on the learner.

>>714619030Mejiro Palmer, the Gyaru Friend, Factoids
>Name origin: Mejiro (clan name) + Palmer (from American professional golf player Arnold Daniel Palmer.)>This is the reason why she is very good at playing golf in the world of Uma Musume>While being portrayed as a child from Mejiro’s distant branch in the anime and the game, the horse is actually from Mejiro’s main parent ranch (while McQueen is from the subsidiary ranch).>But he was not expected to run well, so no one from the Mejiro Clan paid much attention to him.>When he won the 1992 Takarazuka Kinen, no one from the clan and the team showed up in the winning ceremony except his groom.>They were planning to send both McQueen and Palmer to the race but when the former fractured his leg, Miya Kitano had to cancel the tour that they were going to take him on and thus Palmer was the only one sent to the race.>Shared the same trainer with Narita Brian, Narita Taishin, and Silk Justice.>She has a hallway conversation with the former two for that very reason.>The horse is always way too energetic, once headbutting the fence and causing serious nosebleeds. He also gets excited every time he sees a mare (and he would lose weight because of it).>He is the only Japanese horse that came back to flat from jump races, and could still win a GI.>Her father is a journalist, and her mother is a picture book writer.>This is because IRL Palmer’s father, Mejiro Eagle, won Kyoto Shimbun Hai (a race sponsored by Kyoto News Press). Palmer’s mother is Mejiro “Fantasy”, so it’s related to picture books.>In her ending, she received a racing car as a gift, and she named the car “Palmer”.>A reference to Palmer’s jockey, Taisei Yamada. After he won Palmer the first GI, he received a car as a gift, and he also named it “Palmer”.>Had a long relationship with Daitaku Helios which made it's way into the game and anime.

The Hagino clan won a lot of GI level titles in the 70s and early 80s.>Daiichi Ruby’s mother is Hagino Top Lady, the Oka-Sho and QEII Cup winner.>Her father is the famous “heavenly horse” - Tosho Boy, one member of the infamous TTG trio and multi GI level title winner. Tosho Boy was famous for siring excellent racers such as Mr. C.B.>Daiichi Ruby was already attracting a lot of attention before her debut, because her sale price was 100 million yen, which was huge at her time.>Even though Daiichi Ruby was born with a crooked leg, she showed strong competitiveness in races. Her main jockey Kawachi Hiroshi praised her to be the strongest racer for any race under 1600m at the time.>The reason why the shoes for her left foot and right foot are different in size is because the real horse has very uneven hoof shapes and sizes - to the point that no trainer wanted to accept the horse at first.>She is the first filly to win two GI titles in mixed races (after 1984 when races were graded, that is), she also broke the fillies’ prize record after she won her second GI at the 1991 Sprinters Stakes.>But after K.S. Miracle’s death during that race, she could not win. Fans speculated that she missed him.>This affection is seen in Uma Musume as well>Was known to have a foul temper, which is a big contrast to her rival Daitaku Helios, who was tame (but weird).>As mentioned in the Helios post, she was heavily shipped IRL with Daitaku. Though nothing ever came of it.>Many horses retire due to injury or threat of it.>Ruby retired because she turned into a gooner.>She started experiencing heavy bouts of estrus, and at the time it was especially difficult to deal with it. This heavily effected her racing, leading to her retirement.

Miracle caught Japanese encephalitis when he was born, and had a serious leg problem before debut, but he conquered all of these life threatening illnesses. This also happens in horse girl K.S. Miracle’s past and because of her gratitude to everyone who took care of her, she wants to succeed in racing.>He broke the record of three races. In the 1991 Swan Stakes, not only did he break the record time, he also defeated Daitaku Helios, Daiichi Ruby, and Bamboo Memory all at once.>He eventually met his tragic end after suffering a comminuted fracture at the 1991 Sprinters Stakes, and was euthanized.>He was also the most popular horse in the race as well.>The injury was on his left hind leg, indicated by a yellow belt on her left leg in her race outfit.>Footage of this scene was especially tragic. The crowd were hushed into a silence and K.S. Miracle was stumbling around in pain. Very unfortunate moment in the sport.>Even more tragic: it hadn’t even been a month since his first heavy prize win.>The real life horse was quite popular with female fans, which seems to have translated into the fandom of Uma Musume. It's not uncommon for people to try and give them away for free or abandon in some area, especially in Arizona, Nevada, or any of the Reservations. it use to be $300-500 a month to maintain a horse without free property/grass in 2012. I imagine its more expensive then that now.
And I will confirm that men get pushed out of horse industry because of the women. As women got more and more involved in horses, the more drama there is. With a horse as strong as this, you can win as many races as you want”. Okabe tossed it back and said: “Nah, if it’s you jockeying the horse from the start, he isn’t going to become this strong.”>Originally, Taiki Shuttle wasn’t going to run in the 1998 Sprinters Stakes, but JRA wanted him to run the race and win, to have a glorious retirement on the same day.>Taiki Shuttle showed a rare rebellious attitude before running the race, oddly enough.>He eventually lost the race, and the title was taken by Meiner Love. Super Creek Factoids
>Name origin: Super Creek was actually born with a defect: his left foreleg turned outward. Nobody bought him in auctions so the owner of the farm that bred him asked his friend to buy him. The reasoning behind the name: “He’s a small creek now but I hope he becomes a big river in the future”.
>In-Game Motherly personality comes from how the horse ‘nurtured’ Yutaka Take towards his first GI win (and the record for youngest jockey to win a GI, at 19 years old). Super Creek facilitated his growth into a genius jockey.
>Take said: “This is the first horse I fell in love with, and I won’t give him to anyone.” He even talked to the horse with baby talk, like how a parent talks to a child.
>He was also nicknamed “Take Yutaka’s wife” at the time.
>Super Creek was also a very calm horse, one of the calmest stallions that his breeding farm’s owner had ever seen.
>Super Creek was more of a heel character during his time. When he beat Oguri Cap in 1989 Fall Tenno, Take received a lot of harassment letters from haters. So for a period of time, Take hated Oguri Cap a lot.
>He won’t eat carrots unless they're sliced in equal pieces.
>If other horses try to pick a fight with him, he'd fight back without hesitation.
>Usually it’s always the jockey who picks and chooses the horse they are going to ride. But when Take Yutaka visited Ito training stable before the 1988 Kikka-Sho to pick his partner, Super Creek bit Take’s sleeves and didn't let him go, like the horse was picking Take to jockey him. This is why Super Creek is the one to choose you as trainer and not the other way around.

>>714619510In horses, there can be a system of who does what. I'll explain thoroughbreds (race horses that all the umas are, there's other race horse breeds) real quick.
Owner: Actually bought and owns the horse. Usually rich. Sometimes can have multiple sponosors or owners, especially when the Arabs get involved.
Trainer: Trains the horse and may ride it some of the time for purposes of training. may also be the groom. Almost never rides the horse for races because usually too big.
Jockey/Rider: Actually rides the horse. Ultra manlets. Not uncommon seeing from various countries. Very good at hanging on and not getting themselves killed.
Groom: Takes care of the horse, mostly around them all day. Almost never rides period.
On the lower end of things but still seen in sporting or competition, its very common for the Owner to be the Rider and to have a trainer and nothing else.

Oguri Cap Factoids (1/???)
>Probably one of the most beloved horses ever and was the center figure of the second Japanese horse racing boom (the first boom was caused by Haiseiko). At that time, even if someone wasn’t even interested in horse racing, they would know who Oguri Cap was.
>Mostly because he had such a dramatic life; his underdog to victory story, going from local to central, when he couldn’t run in the classic races and everyone wanted him to, being very powerful, his own racing abilities, his battles with horses like Tamamo Cross, Inari One, Super Creek, etc. His 1990 Arima Kinen win also goes down in history as one of the best races ever.
>He and Tamamo Cross broke the stereotype that grey horses were unable to win, which was a wide belief around their time in Japan.
>Oguri Cap is not picky on food; not only does he eat a lot more than other horses, he also eats twice as fast as regular horses. You all probably recognize this from the anime.
>He loves garlic miso.
>He once got so hungry as a baby, he started to eat the straw from his own stable.
>He can digest some foods that other horses can’t.
>He likes to roll around after having a training session.
>Oguri Cap is a terrible swimmer. Witnesses said he “swims so slowly, like he’s about to drown”. She actually almost drowned in Cinderella Gray's manga.
>He had three retirement ceremonies, one in Kyoto, one in Tokyo and one in his original home of Kasamatsu. 40,000 people attended the Kasamatsu one, which surpassed the town’s population of 23,000 at the time.
>Oguri Cap was the first Japanese horse to have plushies. JRA designed them to meet the demand from newly attracted female fans: which was an extreme minority before the Oguri Cap boom.
>These female fans were called “Oguri Gals” and began to rise more as racehorse fangirls over time. In Cinderella Gray, Norn Ace becomes one.
Oguri Cap’s plushies can be seen in her first Power SSR card.

>In her non-GI winning pose and in Cinderella Gray (before the Pegasus Stakes), she trembles out of energy. This is a reference to him trembling in preparation for a race, like he was a warrior going out to battle. The in-game scenario “Warrior’s Tremble”, which gives an extra stat boost to a horse girl before a race, is also a reference to this.>Oguri Cap has great battle instinct, he knows who his biggest rival is (this is shown at 1988 Arima Kinen, Oguri Cap only paid attention to Tamamo Cross).>Oguri Cap runs with his head lower, making his whole body almost horizontal to the ground, which gives him extra thrust power and reduces aero drag (like how motorcyclists and skiers will do the same). His hooves also dig deep into the ground when running. His running style is emphasised a lot in Cinderella Gray, but unfortunately not in the game.>Jockey Minai Katsumi compared Oguri Cap with Narita Brian (whom he won the Triple Crown with): “Both horses are powerful and have a very similar way of accelerating.”>Oguri Cap usually starts running with his right leg first, which makes him run better at clockwise courses. >He is also very calm, and you never see him go berserk in a race. He is not easily affected by crowd cheers and yellings.>Oguri Cap is very serious about race, so he doesn’t know when to relax. His jockey has to assist him.>Oguri Cap has a lower heart rate than regular horses, so he can keep his condition for longer. His heart is also larger.

>Was said to be in love (or at least attracted to) a New Zealand filly named Horlicks. Horlicks came to Japan in 1989 to contest in the Japan Cup, which she then won. >Because Oguri was a glutton, trainers and other staff said that he never looked up from his trough of food no matter what. However, whenever Horlicks passed by, he seemed glued to her presence and would keep staring at her. When he couldn’t see her anymore, he went right back to looking at his food.>In the 1989 Japan Cup, he wouldn’t stop looking at her in the paddocks. They were even placed next to each other in the gate. When the race started, Oguri made a mad dash for Horlicks and was right behind her the entire race.>Horlicks broke the 2400m course world record in that race - by two seconds.>This also made Horlicks the only foreign horse to ever be featured in JRA’s commercials (JRA’s The Winner commercial for the 2012 Japan Cup).>Two mating requests were made by Oguri Cap’s team to Horlicks’s team after retirement but both were turned down. (No waifu for Oguri) >Before moving to central racing from Kasamatsu, Oguri got his hooves filed and corrected. When he came to central, he loved having his hooves trimmed.

Many fans went to visit him. On May 5, 1991, which was during the golden week holidays, 6,000 fans visited Oguri Cap. This number is equal to the population of Niikappu Town at the time.>However, Oguri Cap’s stallion record was poor. Mayano Top Gun Factoids
>Named after the movie 'Top Gun'
>Notably during the recent press tour for Top Gun Maverick, Mayano's voice actress got to meet Tom Cruise due to this. Irrelevant, but funny.
>His groom and stable workers called him by the nickname “Gun-chan”.
>The horse is quite moody, childish, and would refuse to do anything he absolutely doesn’t like. Including in races.
>He had a late debut due to developing osteoid osteoma, and could only run on dirt at first because it was less stressful (that’s why she gets many free turns in her scenario before the first goal race, Kikka-Sho).
>Her habit of throwing kisses up towards her fans is a reference to what his jockey would do during races.
>Gun-Chan would often decide how to run based on mood alone, leaving their jockey to just have to put up with it.
>Gun-Chan had won races with all four different running styles. (This is very impressive.)
>They loved to rub their head against grooms’ bodies. Very affectionate in this regard, with humans at least.
>With horses though? Gun-Chan was picky. Often refusing to mate with mares that didn't match his 'standards', but overly-eager with those that did. Apparently became far less stressed when they gave up on trying to make him a competitive mate sire.
>Gun-Chan also hates vets. He would run away if he spotted a vet from afar, and it would take a lot of time for the grooms to catch him.
>He eats the things he likes first, leaves the things he doesn't like to the last.

Tanino Gimlet Factoids (1/2)
>As of 2024, he is the oldest surviving Derby winner in Japan.
>Tanino Gimlet is a victim of the notorious and cruel “Matsukuni Rotation”. This is a famous race schedule arranged by trainer Matsuda Kunihide for the horses at his stable. It fits as many races as possible in the horse's first half of the classical year. One famous arrangement is to make the same horse run all of the more popular classics, including Satsuki-Sho, NHK Mile Cup, and Japanese Derby. Many horses ended up broken (most suffered bowed tendons) after the Japanese Derby and had to retire, Tanino Gimlet included.
>Some other famous victims: Kurofune, King Kamehameha, Deep Sky, Black Shell, Pink Cameo.
>Uma Musume Gimlet is a big time fence breaker and consciously does it as an appeal. IRL Tanino Gimlet is exactly the same and has broken over 30 fences in 2022 alone.
>Besides the fences, he also breaks feed buckets and stable walls.
>Kicking fences is very dangerous for horses, many end up breaking their legs or even die. However, Tanino Gimlet is an expert on this matter and never gets injured. He also does this for pure pleasure.
>On the first day he arrived at his retirement farm, he broke four fences, and scared the hell out of Rose Kingdom.
>He also teaches his stablemate/neighbour Rose Kingdom to do it, so now even Rose Kingdom is starting to kick the fences.
So how are horse races irl anyways? do the jockeys have zero input during the race while the horse chooses whatever they wanna do? Most of them look like assholes
>>714623869(2/2)
>Staff had tried everything to prevent this from happening to even planting trees in front of the fences… which haven’t worked. >Most of the birthday funds he gets are to repair the fences he’s broken. But they seem to have found a good way to get funds by selling products made from the wood of the fences Tanino Gimlet has broken.>The products made with fences broken by Tanino Gimlet were sold out minutes after they were released (and they were quite expensive).>Because of this, he is known as the “God of Destruction”, which she also calls herself in Uma Musume.>However, besides breaking the fences, Tanino Gimlet isn’t bad in terms of temper, he is actually on the tamer side. His stablemate Rose Kingdom is actually a lot worse.>When Yogibo cushion was put on the grazing ground, Tanino Gimlet’s first thought was to kick it, but he gave up eventually because it was soft.>But after a few tries, Yogibo also fell victim under the mighty power of God of Destruction (the pillow didn’t break though, which showed how durable it is).>Gimlet's daughter is Vodka >These two became the second father-foal pair and the first father-daughter pair to win the Japanese Derby.
Haru Urara is the patron saint of the underdog.

>>714616276The reason why Persona is not popular with the Gacha community is because it's an IP Gacha. It's a game in which has Gacha elements slapped on, and is using the IP of Persona to sell it and make money, which does not work because IP Gacha tend to be stingy compared to Original Gacha which was concieved from the very beginning to be a Gacha through an Anime itself like Umamusume. It also means that Cygames is not as stingy and also has to put in an effort for the fans with Merchandise, Anime, and even the Gacha itself to survive. Umamusume is their LIFELINE. For Persona it's a product with Gacha slapped on.

>>7146249861- You select Support Cards when starting a career, all of them feature a character. This character will appear in Career events.
2- When training you can see if they're "participating" in the top-right, this gives you bonus points for training there that turn, at "max level friendship" you get even more bonus points, so grinding friendships is a good thing because it pays off in the long run.
3- When a Training option has an exclamation mark, you'll get a "hint" by training there that turn (aka the Skill gets added to your list to buy, if you get multiple hints of the same Skill it gets cheaper to buy).
Also there's a different mechanic called "Bond Level" which is separate from Friendships. Bond levels are something that persists globally outside of careers. So far I noticed that you unlock more Story events (basically visual novel segments with no gameplay, they're outside of careers) and you unlock new information in their Profiles.
