The counterpoint is when you just toss money at projects, and lack of oversight results in the teams burning cash instead of trying to get output.
But the problem in modern game dev is that you don't get to speak to your boss.
And neither does your employer, and neither do the region manager. This works fine if its a primary or secondary economic unit(extraction or refining), as there is still a conversion rate from money to resources.
But with services, its very different. You can have a large papertrail saying there is work being done, when its all just meetings and flying over the country in chase of trying to get to work.

strange it only took them a decade to realize that spending millions of dollars on HR and DEI ended up loosing them a fuck ton of money to appeal to an extremely vocal minority of people who are not mentally or financially stable and can't function without government pay outs isn't a sound business decision.
