Got some great relics for him (faster cooldown on his grapple +Ult meter on using grapple + broadsword grapple fire attack) and I’ve first tried (solo) the goat, the ice dragon and the big maw dragon that looks like the monhun pickle dragon AND the final boss with him. Nah thats just what he should do. You don't use the clawmark seal to cast spells when you have 80 str/fth you use the one that scales the highest which will be the fth one that has 0 weight. It will do more damage casting boulder throw than the clawmark with its beast incant buff. The best damage has the claw seal in offhand to give the bonus to the scaling the 0 weight fth seal is casting.

Get the grappling hook follow up skill. It’s a super high damage, wide range, stunning move that ALSO coats your greatsword in fire. Then get other skills that reduce the cooldown on it or give you ultimate charge when you use it so you can piledrive more often.

I always do 2 playthroughs of any souls game, first I go in completely blind and just experience the game and in the 2nd one I use a walkthrough and complete every single piece of content the game has to offer.
My first playthrough always ends up being more rewarding despite missing out on a ton of stuff at first. The novelty of finding stuff out for yourself is a high for me.

So what spells should I be looking for as Rev? Lightning spear is obviously GOAT, but that's dog VS Super Adel, right? Black fireball seems to have such low range. Destructo disc single seems pretty okay, and obviously the Tri Disk is the best thing. But what else is good? Am I sleeping on some? Rock toss seems bad. All the ones that give you a tail or spit fire as a dragon drain FP for not great dmg. Im tired of ringing my bell on the final boss...

Discus is the best when spammed, black fireball is behind it when spammed. Don't charge the low cost spells with rev spam them fast for huge dps. The bigger cost spells are situational for whichever boss you are facing. If you are going to stock up on seals for the 3+ perk or play like that anyway focus on getting really good synergistic passives on your seals. If you hit the discus or spear or blackfireball on a seal and 1 other seal with a good high fp situational spell the other seals can be all dedicated to their passives who cares what the spells are the spells become the bonus aspect of the gear.
I'd rather have 2 good seals for my low fp and high fp spells and all passive buffs like lowered fp or improved incants stacked than have 5 spellseals that I might not make the most use of.

I don't like playing classes that can only do one thing. My three favorites are Wylder, Revenant and Duchess because they can do multiple things.
Wylder can use pretty much any weapon in the entire game, Revenant can alternate between supporting and doing damage and Duchess is a spellblade that by definition does multiple things.
I tried playing Recluse but got bored of only casting spells, tried playing Guardian but got bored of only blocking, etc...

When you're deflecting you're not getting hit. Every deflection does stance damage, and they count as guards so heal on guard effects will trigger and you can do guard counters. Once the target's stance is broken sheath the cursed sword and stab with your regular sword. Then you can swipe while they're getting up.

He's not really a dodge character. You CAN, unlike Guardian, but he's best for just sitting still and timing deflections.

I've only played Executor when playing with other people and I never even took the cursed sword out. I just stuck with double-handing katanas with bleed/poison/rot/frost and I was slicing everything. Grabbing some stamina passives and trinkets helps out a lot. I just use him as a regular class that has dex/arcane scaling and that's it. And I actually really love his dog form, heals you to full hp, doubles it and makes you go really really fast when running away from the night. It's also great with the roar heling relic passive, you just spam the roaring button and you heal your team and damage everything around you, it's sick. But by all means, that's probably not the correct way to play him, that's just what I've been doing to have fun

I keep it all the way through on 90% of my games unless my entire loadout is filled with terrific items AND I have a dagger with a good passive to replace it.
This is just in basic R1 damage. The basic dagger when upgraded to a purple has the same damage as a black knife/blade of calling/kris, etc do more damage with their weapon arts. But the starting dagger when upgraded to purple is only a couple of points behind but gets its buff AND 20 more crit multi.

Daggers like Reduvia (after the 2nd/3rd bleed) and Scorpion's Stinger (after it applies rot) aren't good enough to justify using them over a better dagger if you're constantly going for restage chains. We're talking hundreds of less damage per chain.

As far as getting lucky, sure, but as long as youre killing bosses and completing stuff to get drops, I find it hard to believe you wont get a few FP effects. If you can't seem to get past a certain boss it might be because he's actually broken.

Happened to me with Libra. In his power-up phase his madness channeling would do continous damage over the entire map, and his teleport would spawn him right on top of you, making it impossible to dodge or even pre-dodge his teleport AoE (unless you're Duchess i guess). When i looked up how other people were dealing with him i noticed speedrunners were confused with this as well.
